Shedeur Sanders has entered a new era of his football career with the Cleveland Browns. And the excitement is here for the rookie quarterback, he will wear the No. 12 jersey to begin his rookie NFL season. Previously, while playing for the Colorado Buffaloes, Sanders used to wear the No. 2 jersey. But presently, the newly added wide receiver for the Browns, DeAndre Carter, wears the No. 2 jersey that Shedeur Sanders wore during his college days.
Jersey No. 12 holds a lot of significance for Shedeur Sanders, starting with his dad, Deion Sanders, widely known as “Prime Time,” wore No. 21 during his NFL days, during his tenures with the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Redskins.
Travis Hunter, the two-way star and a Heisman Trophy winner, wore No. 12 at Colorado.
Additionally, Shedeur Sanders’s close mentor, Tom Brady, Most Super Bowl MVPs in NFL history, famously wore No. 12.
The announcement came on Tuesday, through Browns’ official X handle, they revealed the jersey numbers of players for the season, stating, “rookie jersey numbers dropped before GTA 6!. Rooks will be rocking these throughout camp and are subject to change before the season.”rookie jersey numbers dropped before GTA 6 ‼️

After falling to the fifth round of last weekend’s NFL Draft, the quarterback Shedeur Sanders has more to prove compared to Hunter, who was selected No. 2 overall.
From next week onwards, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are ready to make their strong first impression during their respective rookie mini-camps from Friday through Sunday (May 9-11), coinciding with most other NFL teams.
An NFL rookie mini-camp is kind of like a job orientation—it gives draft picks, undrafted free agents, and other hopefuls a chance to prove themselves and earn a spot on the roster. After that, teams gear up with OTAs (Organized Team Activities) and mandatory mini-camps, all of which lead into training camp, usually kicking off in late July.
Shedeur Sanders has already arrived in Cleveland.

Coming back to the star Sanders, he was seen getting involved in his community sooner rather than later. At John Marshall High School in Cleveland, he met with the students in the cafeteria to answer their curiosity that was more than 15 minutes, also having a closed training session at the school’s football field.
“I’m trying to bring Cleveland a Super Bowl!” he said. “But off the field, I want to bring more hope and positivity to the city, and connecting with young people is one of the best ways to do that.”
As Shedeur Sanders continues to chase greatness on the field, his presence off the field is already proving to be a powerful force for change in Cleveland.
